Nutrient Removal and Wet Weather Flow Management

Watch this webinar to learn how to optimize both in sequencing batch reactors (SBR) systems

Historically, SBR's have been limited in handling storm flow events.  However, advancements in control technologies have improved the handling of high peak flows and meeting biological nutrient removal (BNR) requirements in the same footprint.

The OMNIFLO® SBR MAX system with Jet Tech technology is a true-batch SBR process that is designed to handle greater peak flows or storm water overflow (CSO) events while providing superior effluent quality at a lower cost.  During peak flow events, the OMNIFLO SBR MAX system detects peak flows and automatically adjusts its cyclic operation to dissipate the surging influent flows across all SBR basins simultaneously.   In a typical 4-basin SBR , this simple strategy reduces the hydraulic loading rate to 25% of that in a conventional SBR - thus ensuring a clean decant regardless of the storm intensity.

Learning Objectives

  • How SBR's can treat a wide range of flows and the ability to meet stringent effluent quality.
  • Learn about recent advancements in control systems allowing for the treatment of high peak applications while meeting biological nutrient removal (BNR) requirements
  • Learn why sequencing batch reactors are an energy efficient, cost-effective solution vs. alternative biological treatment technologies
